1.0 out of 5 stars Poor, very poor!, 6 Jul 2003
By A Customer
I bought the book with a view to learning some basic facts about security and penetration testing within todays security environment.
The books size disguises the empty content within, solely focussing on win9x which in todays environment is rare considering Microsoft is only shipping XP now. The book contains some coding tutorials but considering the need to understand the basics in the first place running these places you lower than a script kiddie. Disjointed facts about utilities within the OS and purely aimed at individuals who consider changing the appearance of the taskbar "kewl" and other feats to defeat those lamers in your class.
Do yourself a favour and buy another book, you arent going to learn anything of worth in this one!
