Product Description

Product Description

Many students of history believe that somewhere in the world there exists a brotherhood, or order of initiates, secretly guiding the destiny of humankind. Evidence suggests that the Magi, the three wise men who visited Jesus soon after his birth, were part of this brotherhood, and that, using their knowledge of the stars, they were expecting the birth of a messiah in 7BC -- the historical year of Jesus' birth -- and may have acted as symbolic midwives for the event. This book shows how Jesus' horoscope can be seen hidden symbolically within the story of the Adoration of the Magi, and how the Magi's knowledge was preserved and passed back to the West at the time of the crusades.

5.0 out of 5 stars The missing link in Christianity today, 2 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Innocuously focussed around the three wise men of the Nativity, this book branches out into a much wider esoteric plane, and takes you on journeys you wouldn't believe...but which you have to believe because of the evidence that the author provides. I couldn't put it down - and there are plenty of other books which I could!

Having read all of the books by the author, I personally still believe this to be the best one that he has written to date - and hope that he builds on this theme in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Extremely Under Rated Book, 8 Sep 1999
By A Customer
MAGI is a fasinating book. Well researched by possibly one of the most knowledgeable of people in the field of Hermetic understanding.

Not only is it well put together with plenty of compelling insights and facts, but it also 'reads' very well giving you the sense of being on a journey into the obscured past of symbols and mysticism.

The fabulous painting of the 'Adoration of the Magi' with the revised birth chart of the baby Jesus incorporated into it is a masterpiece in itself.

This is a book that makes you think.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and never out of date, 19 Nov 2006
Just finished reading this wonderful book. I have researched the same topic for over ten years and thought I knew it all...but this has opened my eyes and expanded my horizons to new possibilities I hadn't imagined.
There were moments of deep reflection as when the author stood at the side of ancient graves that should have been revered and maintained. Instead bones lay scattered aboveground and the graves badly desecrated by tomb robbers. The author created a few pensive moments that make us all realize how critical it is to keep going forward with research...because the proofs are dissapearing faster than we can record them.
Gilbert has done a wonderful job of piecing together missing clues, and shedding new understanding on the great inigma that is Jesus.
Highly reccommended and kudos to an excellent author and researcher.
