5.0 out of 5 stars Healing Ancient Wounds, The Renegade's Wisdom, 8 Jan 2005
This is a must have book for anyone, patient and therapist. Myofascial Release is little known in the UK but John Barnes has trained over 50,000 therapists at seminars in the US and Canada in his Myofascial Release approach. His book illustrates valuable and informative concepts of how the body and mind work in relation to health and how we can help ourselves to regain health. John details his own journey and experiences that led him to develop Myofascial Release which is a highly specialised whole-body hands-on approach used by therapists throughout the world. John's eclectic approach is a marvel of experience, dedication, research and love which he offers to the people he treats and teaches. This book offers the biggest 'ah-ha' moments you could ever imagine and is a wonderful experience to read from beginning to end. John encourages readers to 'enjoy the journey' Read this book, pack your bags and go!

1.0 out of 5 stars Arrogant self publicity, 27 Oct 2006
Essentially this book is one long advert for one huge ego - maybe the work is great, maybe he's a nice guy but why did I have to pay all this money to hear it over and over and over again? I wish I had the guts to make other people pay for my advertising. Why did the drawings have to be of an old bearded bloke treating a very nubile young lady? If I wanted this kind of image there's plenty of graphic novels for teenagers available out there. Save yourself the money by just going to the website and reading his verbage for free - do not feed this ego any more. For self-aggrandisement this book comes second only to Upledger's "Inner Physician and You".
