Java is the ideal programming language for creating web services, but the technologies are complicated. What's needed is a good, in depth guide to using all the various APIs - JAXM, JAX-RPC, JAXR, etc. This book tries to be that but fails because it's shallow. Everything's covered from SAX to SOAP messaging but nothing in sufficient depth to be authorative. Information content is further reduced by the use of a largish font and double spacing in the code listings.
