5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ, 29 Jan 2002
By Andrew (Aberdeen) - See all my reviews
Of the list of books I believe every human must read, I think this is the most poignant in the context of these times of rapid change. The magnitude of the theme undertaken is unsurpassed not only as a view of the future but also as a way to understand all that has come before. Not that its his purpose, but if after reading it you are still unsure as to the meaning of your existance and higher purpose in life, if only on the global rather than individual scale; then you have obviously misunderstood the importance of his work. As if this wasn't enough, the rational approach and nice style make it a pleasure to read. because this is so new and untouched territory it hasn't been as widely or thoroughly discussed and critiqued as for example darwin's theory. as such i find myself disagreeing about certain aspects or rather a question of emphasis,or separation of factors. I don't give five stars easily especially not if I don't agree 100%, so heed my judgement and buy it, or its next edition. as it is probably the best gift you can give yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very important book, very well written., 13 Jan 2001
By A Customer
One of the best books on the subject I have ever read. If you like this book, you may also like Duane Elgin's new book "Promise Ahead".
