If you like animals - particularly dogs - this is a book for you. Anne Santos certainly has a way with words. There were times when I had my eyes filled with tears - and not many people have been able to do that. The book has a very easy style and the whole book is written from a dog's point of view. If this is her first book I wait with eager anticipation for the next.

I am Dog is well written and the author has stretched her imagation to try to convey how a dog feels about the many cruelties that are inflicted on its kind. However, I found the drift into metaphysical issues towards the second half of the book rather too un-doglike and therefore hard to relate to. Worth a read but once finished, not again.
