Product Description

Product Description

Simon Gray is the newly-appointed and much harassed Chief Executive of Alderton's, a large company that has known better days. When his boss offers him the use of a chauffeur for one day each month, he is as pleased as Punch - until George Willis turns up, as pristine as his Bentley, immaculately mannered and full of philosophical advice that Simon just does not want to hear. But as Willis drives his boss to various meetings - not to mention up the wall - a tentative friendship forms between the two men, and Simon is gradually forced to admit that some of the chauffeur's ideas, from strategy and account management to leadership skills and fostering team spirit, could be the saving of Alderton's - and of Simon himself. But is George Willis really who he appears to be?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read with humour and helpful hints, 12 Feb 2009
By P. Gibbs (Leicestershire UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Since taking on a much greater leading role in our family business I am always happy to have-a-go at reading a recommended book. I really didn't expect a book with this title to flow so smoothly. My husband asked what on earth I was reading about in bed that held my attention so well. Piranhas was quick and punchy and the humour and happy banter made this possible the easiest business book to enjoy. I love the title which so well reflects some of the searching questions posed. With a summary of key points raised at the end of each chapter I feel sure I shall dip back into it from time to time - that is when my co director returns the book !!

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging and 'novel' business book!, 8 Feb 2009
By Wendy Duckham (OXON, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This fantastic business book puts across all the relevant points of being a great leader, via an engaging story . Business lessons pour from every page, as chauffeur Willis and new CEO Simon make their way up and down the country. The story is heartwarmingly told and with serious practical tips summarized for each chapter and at the end of book, it's easy to reference. I'll be rereading this book many times -so funny, so sensible, so relevant - brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! The best business book that I've read in many years!, 29 Dec 2008
By Derek Williams (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This book is worth its weight in gold!

Packed full of guidance for anyone running a business or in a leadership role plus hugely valuable free extras available from the author's website. And all brilliantly packaged in a story that is truly captivating. I took the book with me on holiday and then got told off by my wife for not paying her enough attention!

This is one of those very rare books that I will be treating as a source of reference for the future. In fact, I've downloaded the extra resources and I'm using them in my own business right now!
