He is one of the few family doctors in Britain to offer the three MMR vaccines separately, and was instrumental in raising awareness of the dangers of mercury. A GP in the NHS for over 25 years, he contributes regularly on health-related subjects to the national and medical media. He also runs the successful BabyJabs clinic in London (www.babyjabs.co.uk).

I myself suffered an ADR to DPT in 1969; it nearly killed me. It started 5 mins after jab, and sent my temperature up to 202 degrees. I spent many days with my head on one side. I am not immune deficient. I went on to easily recuperate from every childhood illness including measles and glandular fever, and now I am a very strong healthy 43 yr old. I believe my adverse reaction was covered up. Rubella was written on my medical record, yet on the bottom, it said diagnosis doubtful. My home doctor said "rubella my foot" yet didn't write her feelings down. My mum was verbally told not to vaccinate anyone else in our family. The reason I tell you this, is that I know this system still is in place today. My ADR should have been yellow carded. The fear in 1969 was the same as it is now - loss of trust in the UK vaccination system. Now pharmaceutical companies advertise in the British media, and they rely on the huge revenue created. A scare like the Wakefield Lancet report would not happen again, as scientists and doctors lack funding from independent sources who don't have a vested interest in the subject to study. Speaking out - well we all saw what happened to Wakefield. Huge court cases such as the Valentino Bocca MMR case in Italy are buried by the press. That's why when a doctor comes forward like Doctor Halvorson, its a brave decision. There are going to be many powerful people out to destroy his reputation and paint him as a quack. I read this book, but I also read pro vaccination books. You see many people just read the side they want to believe in to strengthen their belief in their mind. All of the comments in this book are true; its just certain information has been left out to strengthen the authors objective. My child is now 12 months old and as per the nhs schedule will have had 19 jabs and is due to have 7 more this month. Some for example are 5 in 1 jabs. Had I know more before my child was born and figured out how many vaccinations he would be getting my decision making would be different. As an adult I would consider 19 jabs in a year even if some have been rolled into one vaccine jab as excessive. Make an informed decision about whether to vaccinate or not. Do not trust pharmaco's or the government - remember thalidiomide many parents would have assumed as the health profession was giving this it would be safe and we know what happended there.

I wish this book had been around when my children were due to have their infant vaccines. Then I would have been able to make informed choices regarding the vaccine schedule. I am the parent of a vaccine damaged child, now nearly 18 years old. I have never told anyone not to vaccinate because I believe it should be left to personal choice but I do tell people to get informed. There are always 2 sides to every debate! This book is full of information on the history of each vaccine and why they were included in the current vaccine schedule.
This book shows that it is possible to protect your child without following the vaccine schedule as delivered by the NHS today.

I wanted to know as much as I could about the HPV vaccine as I didn't think it had been tested enough and was extremely concerned that nobody seemed to be tellling the truth. The book answered all my questions and, at last, I found an honest answer. As usual it's all down to money for the drug companies and not really about the health of ouf children.

Definitely important reading before making decisions on vaccines. I would reccommend it along with readig a variety of resources. Links at back of book suggest Health Protection agency and babyjabs, these are usefull too along with Green Book (DoH) and Vaccineriskawareness website.

A very balanced account of the history of each vaccine, the disease today and what actual safety trials have been done in each case. It is deliberately not sensational - the author does run a clinic doing jabs in London, so he is far from being against vaccines. I was nevertheless shocked by some of his discoveries. Don't listen to my conclusions, get as much information as you can to inform your own choices, this is too serious a decision to just follow the herd.

This is a non biased well written informative book that every parent should read before vaccinating your little bundle of joy! It gives an alternative schedule of vaccinations to avoid the aluminium overload of the current schedule that the NHS offer. See Babyjabs in London for a list of ingredients in all vaccinations and list of how and when you can have them individually. I think that every parent should be aware of the fact that the aluminium in some vaccinations is above the WHO organisations safe limits!

I highly recommend this book for any parent trying to decide whether or not to vaccinate their child. This is a balanced and informed discussion about the pros and cons of vaccines, what is in them, their side effects and I did not feel that the author was trying to push me towards his own viewpoint, as he himself is a doctor who does in fact vaccinate children. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book. If you are pro vaccination then it is not worth you buying, however if you are trying to making up your mind either way you will find interesting material here.
