As the son of a Turkish Ambassador, I strongly recommend this book for all those who are afflicted with our kind of occupational hazard. Changing countries every so often does take its toll, and Deniz reflects on that toll through the lens of sexual adventures. No matter how glamorous or "high society", one eventually catches on to the idiosyncrasies of the diplomatic lifestyle, which are perfectly exposed in this book. Deniz's acute perception into the mind stream of diplomats and high socialites could as well have been a portrayal of modern day corruption in its broader strokes, a la Mike Judge's sense of humor as seen in Silicon Valley.

I picked up this book to pass time on a plane. I wasn't expecting much, but the writing was mediocre even for a "fluff" book. The author was very obvious, almost to the point of insulting the reader's intelligence (ie: when the diplomat's daughter "discovers" how her troubled relationship with her father has negatively influenced her sex life).

Skip this one.
