5.0 out of 5 stars This book (of which I saw the full documentary) is fully based on logical fact and deep, deep research, 29 Jun 2008
Totally agree. I saw this full TV documentary when it aired about 5 years ago. Kind of shocked that I never heard it mentioned since (well not shocked but somewhat surprised). It seemed totally logical the conclusion he came to and was based on Science. From what I recall he was an organic farmer who went back to get a doctorate in chemistry to support his claims and to do proper research on this. In the end he was basically the world's expert on the subject after all the research and hard work he put into it (that no one else was willing to). In fact it's not at all radical, but deliberately logical. Mark Purdey seems like a very sensible intelligent man. Kind of reminding me of a James Dyson type of man. I definitely believe what he found out, it seemed totally tight and obvious in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heroic research, 10 Mar 2008
Mark Purdey was smeared and persecuted by the authorities and all who had vested interests in supressing the truth about Mad Cow Disease. Here, finally, is his story and his penetrating research. A must read for anyone who is interested in the truth.

Sad to say, Mark is not here to represent his book, having died of a brain tumour in November 2006. Honour him by reading his wonderful book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational Farmer, 24 April 2009
The remarkable story of how one organic farmer stood virtually alone in resisting the requirement to use organophosphates to prevent warble fly on his cattle, a resistance which led him to investigate the environmental effects of pesticides in many different countries. Mark Purdey's courage was phenomenal and the concerted efforts of the establishment to undermine him failed to suppress his determination to discover the causes of the tragedy of BSE/variant CJD.
