Product Description

Product Description

"Jesus Regnant" is the personal story of one woman's conversion to Christianity. Raised in Sri Lanka within a Buddhist environment, Susan Gunasekera since her early age wanted to be Christian, eventually realise her dream of being baptized. The author's conversion takes place when human rights and fundamental freedoms were under threat of being controlled by law. She openly questions the prevalent poverty in Sri Lanka. Susan hopes to bring these problems to the attention of the World stage in the very near future.

From the Author

The persecuted Church, the arduous journey and the gift of eternal life.

I sought my truth. I sought my freedom and choice of worshipping Christ.

4.0 out of 5 stars A compelling read, 25 April 2008
By Mrs. H. L. Bonney "HelenB" (UK) - See all my reviews

'A story of the author's journey to achieve her dream of converting to Christianity. A seemingly simple task, but not so given her personal circumstances. Sometimes falling along the wayside and not without a huge struggle, Susan's goal is eventually achieved. This story of courage and hope, with references to appropriate bible text, presents a compelling, heart-rending read.'

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book about a Woman's Soul Searching, 23 April 2008

I just couldn't put it down when I started reading. Susan is definately a gifted writer. Her prose style sentences are simple, warm yet powerful. Her attitude to life and philosophy moves me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light reading and I was prompted to read on ..., 2 Jan 2008
By Ml Esposto (Italy) - See all my reviews

The front cover of the book did not quite suggest the book was about Susan's baptism; it sounds more to do with Jesus and the Church.

Susan starts of with the Old Testament then her story.

I (the reader) live and grew up in Italy. I am a Roman Catholic and I have kept my faith. We have Confessions; Susan narrates her story through the pages of "Jesus Regnant".

Pages 24 & 25 - Yes, "Jesus is alive!" and the Babe comes every Christmas (very different from Buddhist philosophy).

About religious conversions - the new generation wants something that is not restricted, equal opportunities between men and women, easy way of life rather than difficult.
