Product Description

Synopsis
"Noah Quince" is an insightful and anthropological dark comedy, which explores the workings of Noah Quince, the central character's disturbed mind during his quest for love and his pain in confronting reality. The book deals with extraordinary people - misfits, outsiders, loners - and the power of obsession. The reader experiences a collision of tragedy and comedy with scenes of laughter and hair-raising insanity coinciding.

5.0 out of 5 stars stunning debut, 4 May 2007
An absolutely stunning debut. A wonderful book where the characters and the dialogue are absolutely believable. The eponymous hero(?) and his friends are so real that you, the reader, goes along with their thoughts and feelings. The plot is superb, what is or isn't going on? What is, or isn't, in Noah's mind? This novel moves at a wonderful pace, you don't always want to find out what is on the next page, but nothing in the world is going to stop you from turning it over to find out. Caroline Wood is an author who knows how to drag you in, keep you involved, and then dares you not to care about her characters. I want to know what happens now, I want to know how these characters got here. This is writing at its best. If you are wondering whether to buy this book, do. If you are wondering whether you'll like this book, you will. If you think we should hear more from such an accomplished author, I agree. Buy this book, tell your friends/relatives/neighbours about it. THISISGOOD

5.0 out of 5 stars very visual, 3 May 2007
I've nearly finished this dark, hilarious book and have loved every page of it. It hooked me in right from the start and is extremely intense and visual. I agree that it would make a great film - even if it would be hard to find someone to play the vile Noah!
I've been living with these characters, totally involved in their lives and inside Noah's thoughts (a very uncomfortable place to be) and I'll miss them. I want more of this kind of writing please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 1 May 2007
By A. Wiltshire "Wiltshire" (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Rarely will you read a book as vivid and consistent as Noah Quince: the characters are real to the extent that you feel that they may be reading with you.
Godfrey with his humble, bumbling way is a wonderful contrast to Noah's selfishness and narcicism.
I sincerely hope that this is one of many novels that Caroline Woods will pen and that each of them is written with the same forethought and passion.
