Synopsis

"From the Lost Property Office" is a collection of poems in homage to the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, who was the first poet Alyson Torns came to love when she began writing poetry. Pessoa means 'person' or 'persona' in Portuguese and, in classic culture, 'mask' and he wrote under many heteronyms, the most famous being: Fernando Pessoa, Alberto Caeiro, Ricardo Reis and Alvaro de Campos. They each had their own unique style and structure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stimulation for left and right brain, 26 Nov 2007
When I was only ten years old I used to take a typewriter to create images with the letters and with words. Johannes Kerkhoven is a man who has refined and extended this art into his seventies. I found this a delightful collection of visual poetry, both clever, thought-provoking and funny. Here is the creative expression of an observant thinker whose playfulness seems to know few limits. A great book for the coffee table or to start some amusing discussions among friends.
