Product Description

Product Description

"Punk Science" demonstrates that ideas from the cutting-edge of science actually explain phenomena that have previously been thought of as "paranormal". Inspired by the "Gnostic Gospels" and the history of the sacred feminine, Dr Samanta-Laughton offers a new model of the universe, where consciousness generates life, where black holes exist inside our bodies as well as far out in space, and where the same science explains galaxies and planets as well as human evolution, auras and chakras. Drawing on the very latest in scientific understanding, the Black Hole principle outlined by Dr Samanta-Laughton represents the next leap forward in both human understanding and living, and gives a closer approximation to scientific reality than the macho-approach of the old-style physics.

About the Author

After qualifying as a medical GP, a holistic therapist and working in a Cancer Help Centre, Dr Samanta-Laughton began a quest to highlight the links between science and spirituality. This has culminated in the emergence of a new scientific vision that she communicates to the public in lectures, workshops and numerous articles. She has co-founded the children of the New World conferences, is the UK contributing editor to Children of the New Earth magazine in California, has a science column in Planet Lightworker magazine, and is featuring on television documentaries screening in 2006. She lives in Berkhamsted, England.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new seed of reality is emerging and how Dr Samanta-Laughton portrays it could be wrong - BUT it could be right!, 17 Nov 2007
Excerpt from full review in Light Magazine

As the title suggests `Punk Science' is attention grabbing and defiant in its approach. It's a 'must read' for those who know we must explore reality in a new light, as it uses 'Science' - the ultimate voice of authority in our modern world - in order to 'prove' the point... love it or hate it, I doubt you can ignore it!

Although the fuel for this book was conveyed during, in the authors words, a 'Visionary Experience" she has ignited it with insight and research that links esoteric knowledge and modern physics. She has uncovered spirit within science by transcending the limited 'machine' model to propose the creative principle of pure consciousness is at the core of all things, even perhaps at the centre of a black hole!

5.0 out of 5 stars The next revolution in Science, 5 Aug 2007
An excellent book that is the first truly groundbreaking piece of visionary physics since Einstein, Bohr and Heisenberg. Dr Manjir Samanta-Laughton gives the next generation of creative scientists a complete template which will seed a whole new wave of scientific discovery.

By using science itself, her own mysticism and newly observed cosmic data, she describes the whole creation process of the universe and beyond. This book is written for the everyday person with no scientific knowledge and explains things like the paranormal, quantum physics and observed cosmic data in a language that is easy to read and accessible to everyone.

Punk Science reveals 'The Black Hole Principle' which is the most radical and knowledgeable scientific explanation behind the creation process I have ever read. It has given me a new perspective and meaning for my life and describes in modern terms what the ancients have always said about how the universe is being created in every moment. You get one of those Ah Ha... moments of realization which will ultimately move humanity forward in our conscious development. On a personal level it has given me a new level of conscious awareness and I thoroughly recommend you read this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Mind the Skeptics, 20 Jun 2007
By Paul Westran (Australia) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book gives alternative explanations of the universe based on scientific facts and how they may be interpreted from a non-materialist viewpoint. It is a work of optimistic existentialism if you posit - say - Richard Dawkins as a pessimistic existentialist. This means that Punk Science explores the idea that the current scientific paradigm is underdeveloped to a certain extent and this is a reasonable point of view for any book.

The essence of the punk movement was re-evaluation of conventional ideas and behaviours that were a carry-over from times past. One commentator (Philip Oakey) described Punk as the "end of the second world war", meaning that being told how to live by a generation steeped in war (and the negativity this experience engenders) was finally no longer condoned by a section of society who wished to express themselves and be listened to.

Dr Samanta-Laughton has produced a volume of work which is in all senses of the word reflects the ethos by which those people who were dissatisfied with social paradigm emerged in 1976. Although the context of Punk Science
is different, the idea that science today is stuck in a groove and that alternative explanations of the universe in which we live can be deduced from available evidence, obviously parallels the punk movement. The latter saw stricture in behaviour, the former sees stricture in method and ultimately belief. It is also obvious that the author perceives spirituality to be distinct from dogmatic religion.

A great asset of the authors approach, apart from being well-versed in the material under discussion, is the deliberate brevity and punchiness of the individual chapters, making this an accessible work for anyone interested in either the debate between, or the common ground to be found between, science and spirituality.

If you enjoy this book, read Dean Radin's Entangled Minds.
