Synopsis

After the sudden death of her husband, Eleanor decides to take a break from her everyday life and make a fresh start. But a new life isn't easy when your old one refuses to be left behind...No one knows this more than Eleanor's niece Lesley. Drawn into a passionate relationship with the mysterious Jonathan, will their love be enough to overcome his secrets, or will the shadows of his past engulf them both? Nobody I Know is a story of lives lost and love found, a romance and a mystery about the people we are and the people we want to be. Phyl Wright is married and lives in Bearsden, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, with her husband and two cats. Phyl has three grown-up children who live nearby. Previously published in M8 magazine, this is her first novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Somebody we should know, 18 Dec 2006
Well, where do I start. From the very first line of the book I was hooked. Even though - and I'm not giving anything away here - it starts in a sad way, you have a feeling, a presence of an uplifting story about to start. Through the three main characters, you find a sense of belonging, and like the synopsis says 'it's a story of the people we are, and the people we want to be', and I whole heartedly agree with that statement. Elenor's life throughout the book is of what you would like life to be like. The characters feel so believable, that you just don't want the story to end. As I was getting close to the end, I knew it was coming, but just didn't want to read the last page. At the turn of that page, I just wanted to start reading it from the start again, and so I have done. I dare you not to laugh or cry!!

Could there be a follow up?? I hope so, and I'm sure it will be just as amazing as this one.

Fantastic, first class, and a must read for anyone who loves a good story, and wants to get lost after a tough day at work!!

5 STARS!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars keeps you guessing!, 24 Mar 2007
By Intipuss (Paisley, Scotland) - See all my reviews
As an avid buyer and reader of books its wonderful to at last find an author that actually makes you think! Trying to second guess her is very, very hard and like the friends who 'acquired'a read of this book I was unable to work out who or what 'dunnit'! You will have read the synopsis above which is a very fair description of events but it does not impart how hard it is to put the book down.Looking forward to the next one - is it finished yet?????

5.0 out of 5 stars Never wanted it to end!, 6 Feb 2007

(REAL NAME)
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. Very well written there was not one part of it i disliked. I know lots of other people who have also purchased and love the novel and the best thing about that was having someone to share it with because it is that kind of story. I found myself talking about the characters as though i personally knew them - absolutely fantastic. I felt I could relate to several episodes throughout and the whole storyline had me wondering what was going to happen next. Once i picked it up that was me hooked - 2 nights it took me because i just simply couln't put it down. All i can say is those of you who haven't yet read it - read it now and you will understand what i am talking about. Apart from that, i cannot wait until Phyl Wright brings out her next one!
