What would happen if one of the smallest countries in the world discovered it had the power to blackmail the largest? What would happen if this small country, wealthy beyond its wildest dreams, set out to explore space and built a rocket to go to the moon? This is a story of politics, humour, intrigue, national pride, romance, human greed and plenty of whisky, as the movers and shakers of government, spies, lovers and the very ordinary man in the pub are drawn into a master plan to unite the world. Bill Smith first put his drawing board aside to enter the public consciousness as the founder of The Corrie Folk Trio & Paddie Bell, now part of Scotland's twentieth century history. In 1965 he joined the Royal Lyceum Company for a brief spell in repertory before setting out for London to continue his career in architecture stopping along the way to work with other groups of musicians and actors before committing to an extended period of working in the Middle East. He returned to Scotland following devolution and has been a keen observer of the country's political development ever since. Bill still combines a full-time career in architecture with his singing and writing, calling on his wide experience of life to entertain and provoke debate in this, his first novel.
