Product Description

Product Description

With Cape Town's spectacular setting, cosmopolitan vibe and African roots, this city has a certain special something for even the most blase traveller. While Cape Town manages to combine First World flair with a palpable Third World energy, its striking natural beauty is truly staggering to behold: with the Atlantic on its doorstep, Table Mountain overseeing goings-on in the City Bowl, and the majestic winelands, there is much to occupy any level of outdoor enthusiast. The second edition of "Time Out Cape Town" gives you everything you need to make the most of this city with expert advice from local writers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential guide to use when in Cape Town, 6 Jan 2005
By Christian (Essex United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: "Time Out" Cape Town (Paperback)
Just got back from Cape Town and found this book went everywhere with us. From easy beach walks to vibrant restaurants this book was full of great information and recommendations about Cape Town. We even found the locals recommending places that we had already seen thanks to this book. Very clear, easy to use and well illustrated. Definite must have if you are exploring the Cape!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliantly helpful guide...., 3 May 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: "Time Out" Cape Town (Paperback)
I went to Cape Town in March and found this book absolutely invaluable. It lists all the places within the city itself that are worth seeing and it's reach is spread down as far as Cape Town, Boulders and all the restaurants on the way. If you need a good book to help you get around Cape Town and it's surrounding areas look no further. Time Out guides are simply the best. Utterly addictive and totally comprehensive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great in places, but a little thin on the ground, 29 Feb 2008
By A. H. McGowan (W.Midlands.UK) - See all my reviews
This is good book if you are in Cape Town itself and its immediate surrounding areas.. but if you are travelling further afield on the garden route I found it a little thin on the ground. This might sound picky, but it does state on the cover that it covers the Garden Route. Rather too many pictures and whole sections dedicated to "sport and fitness" and "gay and lesbian", and three quarters of this book seems to be dedicated just to Cape Town itself. If you travelling to Cape Town and then plan on exploring the entire Western Cape and want to buy just one book to cover everything, then the "rough guide" (see my review) is far better as an informative travel companion in my opinion.
