I enjoyed reading all the sarcastic articles about odd bits of German culture, found my way around town just fine and happily followed the recommendations in the sightseeing section. Nevertheless, I found the nightlife section almost completly useless.
It is true that the Berlin bar and club scene changes continuously, making it difficult for anyone to recommend particular places. Still, there was no shortage of 3 / 4 year old establishments in town that deserved to be mentioned in this guidebook. It would have helped immensely given that the local equivalent of Time not seem to provide addresses at all!

A good book for nightlife listings and the main sights, but weak on practical things. Travelling with this book, I arrived at Schonefeld airport and it took me 1 1/2 hours to figure out how to get to the city centre by public transport. I took the recommended day trip to Potsdam, and was completely unprepared for where to go upon arriving at the station (and a map would have been nice).

The index gives every page number which refers to whatever you've looked up without indicating which page has the main information. You therefore have to look up each page.

The maps are good, but don't overlap in an intuitive way from page to page.

I found some of the comments sarcastic, rude and sneering which doesn't seem to fit in with the openmindedness of travelling and new experiences.

I stayed in a hotel recommended by the guide. It turned out to be a nightmare experience, with noisy music from the club below, rude service and unfair cancellation terms.
