5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasure to read and a pleasure to walk, 4 Jan 2006
By A Customer
I thought I knew this area but I discovered some real gems in this book. Plus, the style of writing is so entertaining as well as informative.

There are plenty of routes, all with up to date OS maps, at various levels of difficulty and distances/times. I have only had time to try one so far, but am itching to get out there again.

I recommend this excellent book unreservedly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal Walks Book, 16 Feb 2006
By A. M. Pleasant "Plez" (Reeth, Richmond, N Yorks United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The authors have added some humour and many historical facts that make the walks even more interesting and enjoyable. The clarity of the maps is of an extremely high standard. The book is just the right size for the walker and the ring-binding makes for a very simple access to the information. Excellent value at a very reasonable cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Long Walk
This is a cracking book but be advised that the majority of walks are quite long so if you're a novice, (like us#, the shorter walks #around 5 miles) are limited. Read more
