Product Description

Book Description
If you have been unsuccessful in conceiving a baby it is difficult to know where to start to correct your situation. The world of infertility can be complex and daunting. Most books on infertility are written by doctors who specialise in one aspect of infertility only. This is the first book on the subject to be written by someone who suffered from infertility, who has researched all of the potential causes and who has personally tried all of the treatments. All this information is contained in three easy-to-follow steps, which can maximise your chance of conceiving.
1. Gain a full understanding of the male and female body and reasons for infertility.
2. Find out what the problem is by completing the right infertility tests.
3. Choose the complimentary or conventional treatment that suits your circumstances.
3 Steps to Fertility includes a three-month preconception plan to help both partners get in optimum condition and many inspiring stories from people who have successfully had a baby using the treatments covered in the book.
Whether you have just started your attempt for a baby or are currently undergoing treatment, this book will guide you every step of the way and help you take charge of your fertility.

About the Author
Marina Nicholas, trained in human biological sciences, faced six years of infertility before successfully giving birth to her son. In attempting to become pregnant, she underwent both conventional and alternative treatments.
Dr. Mohammed Taranissi is the Medical Director of the Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Centre, London and has been instrumental in researching and implementing new technologies to maximise a couple's chance of conception.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, 3 Aug 2006
By Janet Lloyd (Scotland) - See all my reviews
Over the years I've read many different articles and features on how to conceive naturally and with assistance. Not for my own personal need, but on behalf of a close family friend who has desperately longed for a child as far back as I can remember.

What particularly appealed to me about this book was it's easy to follow manner and 3 step guide. By breaking the challenge; how to maximise your chance of conception, into 3 separate stages it became easy to follow and understand, finally painting a clearer picture of what to do next, in my mind.

The three stages are: Gaining a full understanding of the male and female bodies and reasons for infertility, Finding out where the problem could lie by completing specific fertility tests and finally a 3-month preconception plan.

I found the first step fascinating, apart from the obvious; I'd never really considered the intricate differences of the male and female anatomy before! The tests were cleverly constructed but simple to follow and the three step plan made the horrendous challenge of attempting to conquer infertility, finally seem like a possibility.

Infertility and depression go hand-in-hand; often subconsciously as the affected party bravely carries on regardless, however, in order for fertility to become an option, it is crucial that this is overcome:

"Depression is so debilitating to you and your life. My advice is to find a way to change your outlook by talking to friends, family and fertility counsellors or undergo hypnotherapy treatment - whatever it takes! Don't let your life pass you by; get out from under the cloud and take action now!" A section in step 3 is dedicated to the benefits of hypnotherapy and how it may help you conceive."

I'd previously heard that hypnotherapy is used by a number of women in a desperate bid to conceive, however, I don't think I ever really believed it could actually work, it was certainly the last suggestion I'd expected to read in this book. I am now a wholehearted supporter of hypnotherapy and would advise anyone with an open mind and longing for a child to give it a bash.

This book is extremely detailed but it is also structured in a clear and colourful manner, which allows the reader to dip in and out of sections to refresh the memory or learn something new. I learned a great deal from reading it and intend to continue to refer to it for years to come.

The greatest lesson I think I learned from this book is that each infertile couple is unique and that what is good for one couple may not work for the next. It is important to keep an open mind, be willing to try anything and although easier said than done, try not to let the negative times weigh to heavily on your life.

I've now passed this book on to my dear friend and she has begun the three step process, with a renewed confidence and hope for the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 steps to fertility by marina nicholas, 28 Feb 2006
By A Customer
Undoubtedly the most helpful, informative book that I have read on fertility and IVF, it really helps you through all stages of the treatment. It is clear and easy to identify with lots of true to life cases and couple's experiences that everyone can relate to,giving me strength throughout my treatment.
The recommended reflexology treatments and in particular the diet, has been brilliant for knowing what to stock up in the fridge to help conceive and give a baby the best possible start in life! Thank you Marina!

5.0 out of 5 stars fertility, 9 Mar 2006
By A Customer
Great! I really like Marina’s approach to this delicate subject. We have been trying for a baby for many years, read lots of books on the subject and were beginning to give up hope. This is the first I can truly identify with, maybe because Marina suffered with infertility and has ‘been there, seen it and done it’!

She seems to put all the medical information into simple, easy-to-follow steps, and we are now embarking on the 3-month preconception plan and even going to try out reflexology while having IVF to increase our chances. I particularly like the success stories as they made me aware of how many different types of treatments can help you get pregnant – I thought I knew everything! I have renewed enthusiasm to get pregnant having read this excellent book!
