Opening pages provide historical context about Roman Republic and the gladiatorial entertainment which was so popular. Closing pages explain what became of Rome's leaders at the time of the revolt and the changes that were enforced in the gladiatorial schools. This work includes a glossary, index and recommended further reading. It fits into the guidelines for Key Stage 2 History and helps achieve the goals of the Scottish Standard Curriculum 5-14.
