the story begins at professor x's mansion, and tensions are strife between the new mutants students and the teachers. all hell breaks loose when prof. x travels away from the mansion. the students lead a revolt against the unsuspecting adults. not fully understanding their powers yet, the students force the adults out of the mansion, wrecking it at the same time. whilst jean and cyclops attempt to enter the mansion from the side, storm and wolverine risk their lives trying to persuade the mutant kids to back down. a shadowy figure working for magneto to split the x-men is manipulating the mutants...
