Review
"Just when you thought you had heard the latest conspiracy theory, another one crops up. Or at least that's what I thought until I read the amazing new book by Philip Gardiner called The Shining Ones. Thoroughly expecting to be greeted by a barrage of government hating men in black UFO nonsense I was remarkably surprised. Not only is this a truly massive project of historical research it is also a world changing and insightful work from a relatively unknown author. The book stakes it's claim on having uncovered the world's most powerful and ancient secret society. It is with huge claims like this that most of us, who have some knowledge of the conspiracy world, get that familiar sinking feeling. Surely, if the secret was so great and those in power so powerful, then such secrets would not be allowed to be printed. That is where I came across my first problem. This book has been published by a brand new publishing company, strategically set up to print books that other publishing companies are too scared to publish. Not only that the author himself is a co-founder and director of the publishing company. Immediate respect, putting his money where his mouth is. So what about the book? Does it stand up to it's claim? In a word, and a surprising one, yes! It may start out a little slow, it may go on about backing up it's claim with science and some startling ideas about strange phenomena, but it does get to the point fairly quickly, and what a point! I have read just about every book there is, I have searched the conspiracy websites, but never before have I found such evidence placed before me in such a balanced and well researched format. This book has, without doubt, entirely changed my entire outlook on world history. Unless something else, equally as strong, comes along soon then I shall firmly believe for the rest of my life that there was and probably is a secret brotherhood of men calling themselves, quite blatantly, The Shining Ones. They have, without doubt in my mind, merged into our history, moulded it and set it on a self fulfilling future. If I have any complaints about the book at all, it is simply that I wanted to know more. The author claims that simply for the purposes of length that he must end his story just after Mohammed, promising a follow up book to bring us up to date. I wish he would hurry the process along and let us have the next instalment..." -- Ernest Scott.

Product Description
The story of The Shining Ones is the real history of mankind. Every twist and turn on the pathway of human evolution was put there deliberately by this secret priesthood for a mysterious and extremely long-term goal. On our journey to uncover the Shining Ones we will learn that history, as we know it, is a lie. History is, as Justice Holmes said, "what the people who won say it is." It has been warped over vast periods of time to fit with each generation's idea of what is fact and what is truth. Our belief systems, whether religious, scientific or political, have been manipulated by a secret and deadly group of individuals who have a history going back thousands of years. They have a name, they have a power base and they have a secret, locked away within their initiated few, which has major implications for the future of mankind. We will discover the secret and reveal it. Once we decipher the Shining Ones' clues, we will see how the mysteries of the ancient and not so ancient world can now be solved, from megalithic standing stones, the Holy Grail and alchemy to the truth behind religion and our present political systems. We must forget the false interpretations of myth and religion we have heard so many times, and know them for what they really are: the secret language of the Shining Ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ciphertext and plaintext?, 30 Jun 2005
The book covers a lot of ground in a lucid, easy to read manner. Symbolic, social, cultural and religious connections are made, threads pulled together and, in places, left tantalisingly open.

I finished this book and am now re-reading it, looking for meanings I feel I must've missed. The author in fact alludes to an encoded deeper meaning within the text - an assertion seemingly endorsed by some of the reviews on this site.

I'm hooked.

For those with an open mind, take a look at this book. For those with eyes to see, there may be deeper rewards.

I think we have not heard the last of this author. I can't wait for 'The Serpent Grail' and 'Gnosis' (plus the planned documentary!).

P.S. If anyone's willing to help me with the code, please contact me. Thanks!

5.0 out of 5 stars There is a Code in the Book!!, 27 May 2005
By A Customer
I note from the comments made about this book so far that the reviews have been varied. I believe the reason is simple. Gardiner alludes to the fact that he has embedded a code within the book in-order to release the information, which otherwise would have got him into serious trouble. Well quite simply, if you look hard enough and apply gematria to the book, you discover a pattern (which explains why some of the grammer may be a bit poor). Once I had discovered this pattern I tried numerous code/cypher devices and found that the Atbash cypher actually uncovered the names, locations and dates of actual events and people who I then discovered were in secret societies. I am not going to reveal what I have discovered, because NOW I UNDERSTAND why Gardiner didn't. But amazingly and incredibly complicated this book may be with it's code, it was worth the effort for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars You all mised the point, 12 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Those reviewers who say they can't see anything new, have completely missed the point and failed to see the hidden clues. Of course some of it seems to be old facts, but in a new light, and answering many more questions. But more than that, I found by following his clues at the start I could decipher the code he had included in the text to "see" who it was he was on about.Blimey, somebody will neck him one day, when they find out. I'm sure its illegal. Brilliant stuff and way too clever for most to even grasp.

Can't wait for the next one, which if I'm right he tells us will be this year in October (its in the code believe it or not!!!)
