5.0 out of 5 stars A great new football format, 19 Dec 2002
A truly great book on BCFC, every goal scorer and goal time, every game listed, every birthday and player obitury. Their are 267 featured match of the day's recounting those memorouble games involving the Blues from the year they were formed to that climatic play off victory against Norwich in 2002. A truly wonderful publication.

5.0 out of 5 stars Any Day Can Be THE Day, 11 Feb 2003
This is a fantastic and unique book chronicling the history of Birmingham City fixtures since the Blues first began playing League football, written by an obviously dedicated and committed fan, who understands the details fellow fans are looking for.

Rather than the usual method statisticians follow of highlighting each season (1895/6, 1896/7... 1951/2 and so on) this book looks at each date games have been played on, from January 1st through to 31 December.

267 playing days are featured, with every result listed on one extreme column of the page in chronological order, plus details of scorers - and even goal times from the 1950s onwards - together with details of any famous players' birthdays on that particular date and deaths of famous sons . Each day is also ranked in order from 1 to 267 depending on the success on that day, relative to all other days.

Not only is all that included, but each day also describes a featured game from history, carefully selected across the years so there is a game that will be recalled by supporters of all ages, who can argue the merits of their fondly remembered stars.
Everybody will no doubt turn straight to their birthday to gauge the hierarchy of their special day in Blues' history and for once, there will be sympathy for those who have their birthdays during the summer months, when there is no football and consequently no memorable match or results to devour and commit to memory.

This has to be a valuable addition to any avid supporter's library and will also have appeal to those who follow football in general. The style is truly a revolutionary way of cataloguing games and results and the facts are presented in such a manner that they enshrine the "joys and sorrows too" from the famous club battle hymn "Keep Right On".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new football format, 19 Dec 2002
A truly fantastic and unique idea on a football club, all the info on the Blues on each day, 366 days of the year. Everything is here players birthdays, obituries, and a full playing list of matches on each particular date. Their is a Match of the day feature on each of the 267 playing days of the year and the research on the club is so great that evan every goal scorer is listed together with goal times on every Birmingham City match since January 1950. The statistical info is also brilliant in the reader can quickly look up the collective playing record in terms of games played, won, lost ect, a success rating has been awarded to every playing date on days where 5 or more matches have been played, and this ratio has been put in order showing where it ranks in the 267 day chart, the reader quickly knows which day is Birmingham's most successful, and which is their worst. A truly great book
