5.0 out of 5 stars Nicola Shulman is a magnificent biographer., 24 May 2002
By A Customer
It's a short book, but it deserves to win all the prizes. Reginald Farrer's "discovery" by Nicola Shulman does great credit both to him - a man who deserves to be better recognised than he has been, as the "founder" of rock gardening - and to herself, who writes with such affection, humour and perfect use of language as to make one wish there were more Nicola Shulman biographies to read. An extraordinary achievement and a real delight for the garden historian and all admirers of wonderful prose.
