Author Charles Lambert also unearths the real reason for Dalglish’s departure; how current England boss Sven Goran Eriksson accepted the manager’s job and then went back on his word; the unhappy reigns of Ray Harford, Roy Hodgson and Brian Kidd; the dressing room strife and on-field punch-ups that undermined morale and saw the club slump to relegation; and the emotion of the 2000-1 season, in which Walker tragically died but his club rose gloriously again under Graeme Souness. About the Author

Charles Lambert has covered north-west football for thirty years, mainly with the BBC, and is a stalwart of the Radio 5 Live reporting team. Married and living in Liverpool, he is the previous author of The Boss, about soccer managers. He currently runs his own TV production company, Northern River Productions

Jack Walker was a one-off. This book is also unique as it stands above the ghost written dross and starry eyed sub literate fanzine rantings as a passionate, fair and clear chronicle of Jack Walker's life and times.
Charlie Lambert has also done his homework. The material is well-researched and backed up with interviews from players, fans and people in football.
In so doing he has written a book that captures the feelings of Blackburn Rovers supporters and will serve as a lasting tribute to a great man. A winner in football, a winner in business.
