3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but biased, 24 Jun 2004
By A Customer
A fascinating account of the development of the self-styled nazi terror movement, Combat 18. The detail is impressive and the book makes compelling reading. Trouble is, apart from a few punch-ups with the Socialist Workers' Party and some in-fighting with rival national socialists, C-18 doesn't seem actually to have done very much (yet)! Furthermore,Nick Lowles may write well but he's hardly impartial in his treatment of the material. His far-left credentials are well-documented and his contempt for the nationalist right is apparent from the outset; a shame as a less partisan approach to what is a very interesting subject might have proved more illuminating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent account of a terrifying racist movement, 9 Jan 2002
By A Customer
The author has written a scincilating account of the most terrifying, hypocrital and violent racist group ever in he history of the UK. He explores it's emergence as the violent arm of the BNP, it's separation from that party and it's attempted expansion across Europe to the divide between it's leaders and fall from socialist power. The book, to me highlights the hypocrosy of these groups with their ever changing beliefs and hatred for each other. Thoroughly enjoyed it and found it difficult to put dowm once I had started reading it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stereotypical account of right wing factions, 23 Feb 2004
Stereotypical account of the right wing. Accounts of gross violence by neanderthals but very little on their political views.
Easy reading and suitable to basically anyone interested in political pressure groups. Although you have to make your own mind up as to the truth of some of the accounts and personalities.
It is easy to force your own view when writing a book thru semi truths.
