Recommended for those checking out Manchester..., 5 Mar 2004
Manchester has a lot to offer, and this will help explain what. The best of the North!This is a small, compact, well written little book. It is up to date for 2004 and its honest and funny at times...
It recommends restaurants, cafes', bars, clubs, pubs, shopping, entertainment/culture etc... On my first trip to Manchester I found it very difficult to know where to go in this growing city, I only had a map and guess work which didn't turn out as well as I expected. On my second trip this book become a major helping hand in knowing where to go, I even recommended some places to friends of mine who live in Manchester and they were highly impressed. It gives guidelines of prices as well opening times. Some sections are sub-catorgised areas in Manchester which is useful for those living in Manchester e.g. students and well as those planning on living in Manchester. The reason for the 4 star review is because this is the only insiders guide to Manchester worth buying... Maybe it deserves a 4.5 but it doesn't tell you where not to go, but I guess thats just someones own opinion and choice. I did also find certain places in Manchester on my own which I would have recommended in the book but for the size of the book they had to prioritise Buy this, its useful for exploring and having fun in Manchester!
