4.0 out of 5 stars More than just how to write a statement, 10 Aug 2006
By Chris (Devon, UK) - See all my reviews
An ideal guide for the probationer/student constable building significantly on early statement training inputs. A clear and invaluable MG sries guide is included at the back of the book and some MG5 (Short descriptive note) examples. There are 72+ pages of statment examples which are useful as a guide for your own and there are some very useful hints and tips. My first statement after buying this book was commented on as "Excellent statement mate" by a colleague - top stuff. This is pocket sized too so can go with you at all times. A good tiolet read and a guide when needed, I also recommend "points to prove" to go with it! NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE SIXTH EDITION OF BOTH - THEY ARE PURPLE AND GREEN RESPCTIVELY - Both available on amazon with a bit of searching.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ideal pocket reference, 2 May 2009
By H. Brown - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Taking Statements (Paperback)
If you're in the business of taking or writing statements, then this is the ideal pocket reference. It is A6 size, so easy to keep in the glovebox or in a drawer. It covers the basics, such as points of law and Turnbull, checking statements and how to work with interpreters, experts and vulnerable witnesses. A good proportion of the book gives example statements for a wide variety of scenarios, with comments on what should be inluded. Highly recommended.
