5.0 out of 5 stars Fianna Fail Incompetence..., 30 April 2009
By Jack Feeney-Author / Analyst (On a Space Orbit - SPACE) - See all my reviews
Although satirical, this book is largely based on Fianna Fail Government management practices. From 'a lot done, more to do' to dodgy 'Business Expansion Schemes' to downright incompetence. How can an economy sink from being the envy of Europe change into an incompetent, drooling idiot? Through management incompetence. If a private company was managed in the same way as the Irish Economy was managed in the last 12 years, it would have closed a long time ago and the best (or worst) is yet to come. Many decent Irish people are ashamed of what the 'leaders' of this country have done with it but then again, you can't fool all the people all of the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and witty but tough on accountants, 22 Sep 2005
As an Accountant I can confirm that we do not all keep Ant-farms, we do not all go to the toilet on the hour, every hour and not all of us accept 'Brown envelope' corrupt payments for helping politicians dodge tax. The book is well written and easy to follow. I read it in one sitting and near wet myself laughing. Some of the stuff on 'Recruitment Agencies' operating in Ireland was a real eye-opener as well as a bit of a laugh. I'm glad however that, at my age, I'll never have to deal with them. I have a far better understanding of Human Resource Management and all that paintballing & touchy feely stuff. I would reccomend buying the book but don't forget to keep your receipt of purchase - your accountant can help you get this money back as an expense !!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars For Managers and the poor saps they Manage !, 29 Sep 2004
A damning though droll indictment of how 'Business & Finance' operates in Post-Tiger Ireland - the tax dodge Capital of Europe. Easy to read and laid out in an A to Z format, it offers radical and somewhat demented Managerial remedies - especially in the area of Human Resource Management!

A light read for the average MANAGER - an absolutely essential read for his or her staff!
