5.0 out of 5 stars This book is just what I needed, 4 Jan 2001
This book is fantastic. It explains the situation regarding Home Education in England as it stands with a no nonsense approach. I have been home educating for over a year and a half now and this is the first book I have read that I could not put down. The various families have generously given of their time and their lives to help, especially new, home educators to see just how diverse home education is. It has been a relief to see some of the problems I have found are not just mine and that there are ways out of them that I hadn't thought of. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone with pre- compulsory education age so that you know that you have a choice regarding your children's education...

5.0 out of 5 stars The definitive book on Home Educating, 31 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This is a superb book. It is informative, entertaining, down-to-earth and above all, honest. It mixes facts, figures and statistics with front-line experiences. All types and styles of home-educating are covered, there are scores of pointers to other sources of information and it is quite refreshingly not one-sided - we hear of the pitfalls as well as the joys. I have read many excellent books on home-educating and this one puts them all in a nutshell and comes across as the most human of the lot. Put simply, this should be the first choice for any prospective home-educator.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real help in chosing the way to educate your child, 3 Jul 2005
By A Customer
This book is excellent and worth every penny! It has helped me to answer a lot of questions as to whether home education could be suitable for my children, could I actually do this, what happens legally, what about exams..... This book is brilliant because it is written by home educators with real lives and experiences that you can relate to! If you are deciding how to educate this book is well worth getting, plus its a good read to boot! I believe I will go back to this book again and again for ideas and inspiration!
