Product Description

Product Description

India describes the main themes in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and other spiritual traditions, and explores their points of contact with the West. The spiritual heritage of India has become an essential part of Western thinking. A large part of the Indian influence in the West is due to its spirituality - the religious leaders and gurus have brought messages that have made a lasting impression. This concise and beautifully illustrated paperback gives due weight to Indian teachings and influence at a time when greater understanding of the Indian culture is evolving.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only book you'll ever need to go to India, 15 Jul 2004
From this book I have been studying AS Hinduism. Its is full of useful and important information about the culture of India as well as the religion and sacred places.

If you were ever to travel around India, this is the only book you'll ever need.
