Product Description

Synopsis

Like most busy mothers, Sian Blunos wanted to feed her baby well, but as a trained chef, working alongside her Michelin-starred chef husband, she didn't have a lot of free time. Her solution was to develop recipes using a wide variety of fresh, available foods, which could be batch-cooked and used to stock the freezer. Now, she always has on hand a range of delicious dishes that can be served up at any time, even when away from the kitchen, and you can, too. Sian advises how with a little care and planning, you can give even the youngest of children the experience of good, fresh food, which is tasty and nutritious. There is an added benefit, too; babies raised on this type of food rarely become fussy eaters - good eating patterns become set for life. If you want to give your baby the best, given that time is limited, you can't afford not to treat both of yourselves to this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, 26 Dec 2003
By Sue (Märsta Sweden) - See all my reviews
Never before have I been more inspired to immediately start cooking every recipe in a cook book! Or even to write a book review.

This book is easy to follow for even the most inexperienced cook and requires the minimum of kitchen equipment. The food is uncomplicated yet nutritious and extremely quick to make. Nutritional info is detailed with many of the recipes so you can rest assured that you are giving your children exactly what they need without additives etc There are also other tips/hints/general info given throughout.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to those mums and dads who would like to offer their children a substitute for commercially produced food. So far my baby has not refused anything offered from these recipes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Now that's "Food for Thought"!, 4 May 2004
By A Customer
This recipe book is the best I've read so far in this field. The idea is to introduce babies to as many food types as possible, which, the theory is, would contribute to a healthy apptite as a child develops.
The recipes is exciting and I could not wait to try them out myself. They are mouth-watering even to an adult! I bought this book as a gift for my sister, a new mother.
Every recipe is easy to follow as the author gives clear instructions. What really surprised me was that most of the recipes can be made days in advance and in bulk. This is a life safer for a new and busy mother.
The recipes covers all of the food groups and teaches a young child to eat a variety and most of all, enjoy food. It also shows how to have your baby take part in the fun, while you are preparing his/her meals.
The nutritional values of the meals are also well thought of.
This book is a perfect gift for expecting parents and I would strongly recommend it to anyone with a new baby. This book would also be handy to care-centres alike.
Well done to the author!

5.0 out of 5 stars The book Mums have been waiting for., 23 Aug 2003
By Janet Moss (England) - See all my reviews
This is such a delightful book; I wish I'd had a copy when my fifteen year old was a baby! My eight month old God daughter is amazing us as she delights in tasting each new recipe and we are introducing her to foods I would never have imagined she'd try. The recipes are easy to follow and suitable for mums who lack confidence and there are more complicated recipes for mums who feel adventurous. The book is a lovely gift too; I would recommend it to anyone who cares about their child's eating habits.
