This book is a rehash of other work, and is ultimately unsatisfying. It serves neither as a useful introduction nor holds any secrtes to inspire he who is already knowledgable about the British soldier in the Napoleonic Era. Mistakes litter the work endlessly. The format follows the Brassey's History of Uniform series layout, and it is no co-incidence the both series share the same editor - Timothy Newark. I could not recommend this title to anyone other than those wishing to make as complete a bibliography of the period as possible. There are far superior titles out there written by far superior historians and writers.
