You should definitely slip this small volume into your travel bag if England is among your travel destinations. Susan offers a vast assortment of bits of history, folklore, tradition and terrific web links to learn more about the wonder that is England.
And included on almost every other page are simply fabulous photos which were mainly taken by Susan's dad. I am particularly taken with the photo on page 84 of a paper merchant and its proclaim of strong carrier bags.
The back cover really says it all. "If you like things that are quirky, original, eccentric or just slightly mad, you'll find them in England and this book will help you to uncover them."
