5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent First Person insight into Grotowski, 23 Feb 2005
By Andrew Wainwright III "Andy" (North Carolina, USA) - See all my reviews
Eugenio Barba's book is a gift to anyone who would like to see how Grotowski's work came about. Barba met Grotowski in the early days of Opole and the Theatre of 13 Rows and was taken by his work. He documents his observations and impressions, what he did and what Grotowski did, what they talked about and how the most powerful theatrical work of the 1960s and early 1970s came to be and came to be recognized by the wider theatrical community.
A respected director in his own right, Barba's book gives invaluable insight into how Grotowski became the Grotowski the world knows.
