4.0 out of 5 stars A herb book to grace your bookshelves, 17 Nov 2003
By Myrtle "featherandquill" (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
The sub title of this book is `Traditional uses of herbs in Scotland', which caught my eye as, yes I live in Scotland. It's a beautifully produced book, a nice hardback with quality paper and plenty of hand drawn, colour illustrations. There are four basic sections, relating to herbs for medicine, in cooking, cosmetics and dye plants. An alphabetical list in each section is prefaced by a couple of pages of introduction. A nice book to give as a present to give to someone interested in herbs, whether there is a Scottish link or not, as well as a nice addition for those of us that have got the fat tome of a herb encyclopedia.
