4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and reasonably accurate generalisation, 29 Dec 2000
By A Customer
I am Irish and live in brussels and I bought this book to try and get an idea of what to expect from the Belgians. It has helped explain where they are coming from, their home life, and their interests/obsessions. Of course, it is impossible to generalise about a group of such people of such diverse origin, history and culture, but it hightlights the many likeable characteristics of the Belgians and their country.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a bore, a lesser addition to the series, 3 Jan 2009
By Simon Turner "michaelpowell" (Borneo) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This entrant to the series is rather dull and a bit of a plod. Far better are the books on the Swiss, the French and the English, for instance. It's not only having the facts that matters, but the wit to know what to do with them and how to put it to really hit the target. The author seems to lack the sense of humour necessary to best marshall the facts.
