4.0 out of 5 stars The Small Press Guide 2003, 12 Feb 2004
By Paul Rance (Whaplode Drove, UK) - See all my reviews
Probably the best guide of British and Irish small press publications. By definition, most of the publications featured have a circulation of under 1,000, and for writers and poets these are the best places to get published early in a writing career. So, an invaluable guide for aspiring writers and poets. Some way out there publications are featured - along with more mainstream titles. Good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars As essential as the Writers Handbook or Yearbook, 8 Nov 2002
This is an essential bookshelf reference for all new writers. Being published in the small press can be an important stepping stone into mainstrem publication and can assist a new writer in building their writers CV and their experience. The Small Press Guide will offer an insight into how to approach a magazine for publication and many of the magazines editors and their readers can subsequently help you to shape your writing and improve as you are rejected or praised with each submission. The Guide also illuminates the existence of many readable and original small publications. So this book is for readers too - tired of mainstream and vacant glossy magazine, then find a new read in this guide and take out a subscription and help keep the small press alive. Buy it.
