There are, as the other review says, some great shots in this work, although I would disagree that it would be hard for non-airbrush users to use since I find all of the Osprey books useful and helpful to novice modellers especially.

It has relevant chapters on choosing, using and cleaning airbrushes (and on helping you decide on a compressor), how to make and use stencils, and even some colour theory. The biggest downfall of this book is that it isn't that useful to people who understand airbrushes and have perhaps already looked into and bought their compressor and 'brush, since there are only a few projects that cover the basics of painting (one car, one figure, one airplane, and one 'tank' which is actually an amphibious vehicle but shows how to produce camouflage). Would I recommend it - yes, mainly to people who've not used an airbrush and are considering buying one and need help. If you know what you're doing, this probably isn't going to be all that useful.

I had hoped for more information on the techniques used to paint military models in this book, preshading, weathering with the airbrush and so on. There are some useful basics in here, for sure, but not enough to make this book an essential buy if you are primarily interested in military modelling. Unlike another reviewer here, I thought the worst chapter was on how to build your own compressor. The book is entitled Air Brush Painting Techniques, and I'd much rather have seen this space used to show more such techniques than be given over to a marginally interesting treatise on assembling the plumbing for a compressor. The information on choosing an airbrush and compressor was welcome, though.

The book has beautiful photographs of models that have been expertly painted and shows an airbrush being disassembled. I could be useless for kids and unexperience modelers. As for me the best Chapter is step-by-step on how to build your own silent compressor, very useful if you don't want spend a lot of money for silent comp. and build your own one.
