This book is full of all the information you need on the Lhasa Apso for pet owners and breeders. It includes many photographs of the Lhasa Apso plus a full history of the breed in great detail. Photographs of modern dogs are shown in their native Tibet along with a full and in-depth view on how the dogs are treated out there as opposed to in the UK.

There are chapters on grooming and health as well as feeding and breeding.

This book is very well written and presented by Juliette Cunliffe who has owned and bred Lhasa Apsos for many years. Her style of writing offers you an insight into the world of a dedicated woman who obviously loves her dogs and wishes prospective and new owners alike to be aware of the care needed to own one of these little dogs.

This book has been written by a breeder and exhibitor of Lhasa Apso`s. She writes the book in a way that you feel like she may be talking to you on a one-to-one basis. Her love of these small but fiery dogs comes through on every page and she relays information and care in a way that experienced and novice owners alike can understand.

The book is one you can pick up and read small snippets from or, if you have the time, read from cover to cover! It is also a book you can refer to in the years ahead (should you be fortunate enough to actually own a Lhasa Apso)should you need a little advice or have a query on any aspect of the breed.

A very enjoyable read and a book that can be certain of being re-read man times.

I bought and read this book just before I viewed the litter of Apsos my puppy came from. A year on and he's exactly as the book suggests he should be.

If you take one thing from this book - DO NOT scrimp on grooming. Oz is in puppy trim and still must be brushed and combed daily to prevent matts. If you take two things: take grooming and the Apso need for a confident, consistent handler. I love my dog to bits, but he's a chancer - those big brown eyes, the laughing mouth and cute tongue hanging out are heart-melting, but if something's allowed once then it's ok forever.

Above all, this book paints a very accurate picture of a small dog with a big heart, and sometimes very human expressions - I can fully understand why Tibetan people believed Lhasa Apsos were priests reincarnated!
