4.0 out of 5 stars A fast-paced, sexy, action thriller., 13 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Not many books manage to capture action the way you see it in the cinema. This manages it superbly. Not only does it move along at a fast pace, it is also a book with well written and likeable characters. There is nothing particularly original about the plot, but what sets it apart is its ability to draw you in to the action, notably the chase sequence about half-way through. If this book falls down anywhere it's in the techno speak which is unnecessary and sometimes tries too hard to appear cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is the "ultimate bad ass" of all books!, 26 Jan 2000
By A Customer
i am an avid reader when it comes to anything fiction. In a vain effort to escape this harsh reality, I read nothing but fantacy and sci-fi. Then a ray of light struck me from none other than the God of the heavens, the almighty, the Lord of Jehova. It came to pass in those long days working in a photo lab that i had run out of things to read. This should have been no problem considering the store that had been graced with my presence was equaly graced with a fine book selection. As i searched the fathomes for the book that would become my transport for this harsh reality, I fell to sadness. Their were no books to capture my imagination, nothing to take my mind from this empty void, not a single candidate for the role of the hero that would rescue me from this hellacious schindig. Not one being prone to panic, I decided to choose a book using the age old "eanie, meanie, minie, moe." By the closest of chances i would end up reading "The Ultimate Rush"rather than "Reckles Love." I never put the book down the first day at work. the second day I bought another copy to take home so i didn't have to worry about not having it with me. To some that last step may seem a bit overdone, but if you read the book and had a tendancy to loose things, i'll bet you did the same thing too. Buy the fourth day I was down to the last chapter. Imediately hot flashes began to strike at my very soul. Never had a book taken me to the hights of this work of art, and now they expected me to just let it go?!? NO! I would not could not, and i did not. i reread each chapter one day at a time. Savoring every word that was placed in my imagination like a prime rib in my mouth. when the last chapter was read franticaly looked for another book written by my new hero...Mr. Joe Quirk. none anywhere. i cry still today for that loss. BUT ... to Mr. Quirk I say nicely done and thank you.
