In bringing this book to screen Uhls constructs the dual personality of Tyler Durden, creating a masterful adaptation. The writing stays close to the original material whilst creating an exciting realization for the screen.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Brilliant Book... An Even Better Screenplay, 27 April 2000
By A Customer
Jim Uhls' screenplay is not as much an adaptation of Palahniuk's novel as it is a meditation on the style of his book. With his screenplay, Uhls simmered down the characterisation and focused on the amazing and fantastic world of Tyler Durden, with its Soap Factories, Illegal Pugilism matches, Urban Terrorism, Lifestyle Philosophy, and most importantly, its mockery of the corporate world in which we all find ourselves. As a result, we have a film that is as much a social satire as a psychological thriller. The best part is that Uhls has peppered this screenplay with some great gags and rich humor. this is one of the funniest screenplays i've read. indispensible if you're a fan of the movie...
