5.0 out of 5 stars A Freaky Freaky read!, 16 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Freaky in the Adina Howard sense... and is it ever! What a wicked book. I read it twice because its a fast read and I didn't want it to end. The story is funny, moving, exciting, freaky! But the style of the writing is what really grabbed me. Di Girolamo's writing goes from hillarious anecdotal style to hard hitting realism to painful, hard to read, moving and poetic... all this in 152 pages. All I can say is buy it because you won't be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book, 5 Sep 2001
By A Customer
Freaky is a really fantastic book - a great read - fast moving and you get totally locked into it. A really exciting story about a bad girl car thief set in London's underworld and Buckinghamshire's Italian community - a stark contrast for the leading character Jay who swings between playing the good Italian girl and the big bad criminal. Terrific!

5.0 out of 5 stars Live fast, live quick, 20 Oct 1999
By A Customer
"Freaky" is a really fast moving novel and a gripping read. The snap decisions Jay (the central character) makes as she dives and twists around every page, leaves you begging to find out what scenario she is going to end up in next. You can't help but read the book as fast as Jay runs from one situation to another. Amusing and exciting, depressing and scarey, "Freaky" is one of this years 'must reads' and a true novel of the nineties. In years to come, people will remember this book for adding the phrase "Wouldn't you love to piss on her toothbrush?" to the dictionary of offensive phrases!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I know nothing of the London that Emilia DiGirolamo writes of in Freaky, but she took me right there with Jay's journey into chaotic certainty. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Jam packed with bad girl action!
Freaky is a surprise read and a real treat. I'm not sure what I expected from the 1970s school text book style cover but it wasn't the story I found inside! Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A cracking read
A vibrant, gutsy book that drags the reader along at a hell of a pace on an exhillarating ride. A real page turner, I couldn't put this book down and swallowed up every word in... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Run of the mill
This was a major disappointment. A girls on-the-road novel, but although the pacing is good, so much of the plot is derivative. Reads like a 3rd rate B movie. Read more
