Book Description
With a foreword by Imran Khan, this is the most comprehensive, practical and knowledgeable guide to a country ignored for so long. There is full coverage of the Karakoram Highway from Islamabad to Kashgar in China and detailed information on the most popular routes, cities and sights, as well as the regions other guidebooks dismiss or ignore. The highlights of a trip to Pakistan are illustrated with colour photography and there are 10 pages of unique colour mapping. In addition there are over 120 black and white maps in the travelling text backed up by comprehensive listings for all budgets from US$10 a day backpackers to luxury and business travellers.

Synopsis
Information about travelling in Pakistan has often been limited and out of date. This updated handbook should provide travellers with comprehensive background information as well as practical travel information. Much has happened in recent years to make the region more accessible for all. The book provides full coverage of the Karakoram Highway from Islamabad to Kashgar in China. The mountaineering and trekking opportunities in Pakistan are considerable and there has been much improvement in travel facilities to enable visitors to get to the mountains more easily. The book is part of an award-winning series of handbooks which are regularly updated. They are designed for all travellers, whatever their age or budget, and are edited by experienced and energetic travellers.

By A Customer
This book is one of the best i've read, it covers pakistan and kashmire, each place is grouped into sections with it's own map of the area. real good book worth the money you gonna pay for it. I'm from pakistan myself and found the book to be quite accurate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb guide to the whole country, 3 Aug 2003
This is the best single country guidebook I've ever used. It is the definitive guide to this excellent country to visit and other books published on the area are very poor relations. Whether you are looking for the best guide to visit the cities or trekking in the mountains - this is the book. The trip to Kashgar (China) is also covered in detail.

Also the best book published by Footprints (by a long, long way) in my opinion.
