Product Description

Book Description

Lavish Limited Edition collection of photographs of one of Folk Rock's most enduring figures.

A collection of photographs, most never published before, from both the public and private life of Al Stewart, Scottish cult folk hero behind chart hit "Year of The Cat" who enjoyed Top Ten success in the U.S.

Following the worldwide success of the official authorised biography The True Life Adventures of a Folk Rock Troubadour, Al opened up his family picture archive for the very first time and what you now have in your hands is a unique perspective of a truly amazing life.

From Al’s earliest days in post-World War Two Scotland, his pop bands in 60’s Bournemouth and life as a folk legend in Swinging London, through to his success in Hollywood and beyond, this book is there with him. -

Over five hundred photographs; 16 pages of full colour.
Limited to 2,000 copies worldwide.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection of photos covering Al's life, 20 Jun 2004
By Patrick J. Neals (Toronto, ON, Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a wonderful collection of photographs, with some extras included. I love that it is put together (mostly) in chronological order, from Al's parents (Al looks SO much like his dad), right up to the latest photo taken this year with Laurence Juber. It's also nice to see the photos with the various musicians that have teamed up with Al over the years. I like the added tidbits of ticket stubs and handwritten pieces. And aren't Al's daughters just adorable? What a great
book! This is a book that will be treasured for many years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Al Stewart in pictures, 14 Jun 2004
By A Customer
This book is a must for every Al Stewart fan. It could have used more captions with the pictures and maybe some more colour photos, but in general a worthy companion to Neville Judd's "Life and times..."

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent companion to Neville Judd's biography of Al., 27 Jun 2004
Al said on his recent UK tour that he had no idea who, apart from his mother, would be interested to see photgraphs of his early days.
Well, all his fans are fascinated to see how the UK's most under-rated singer songwriter grew up.
Some of the most surprising photographs are the complete series of slides projected to a giant screen when Al sang 'Roads to Moscow' on tour in the early 1970s. I can remember feeling that this slide show really brought the song to life. Why had history not been taught like this at school?
What shines through so many of the photographs is the enormous amount of fun and enjoyment Al appears to be having when on stage. His fellow musicians also echo this.
This book is an excellent companion to Neville Judd's biography of Al.
