Fantastic to see a book about The Nice at last. The story is a compelling one capturing the story of a band of talented musicians as they progress from obscurity to superstardom in the heady days of the sixties.

The Nice broke new ground and were a big influence on other bands of the period. The story as recounted by Lee, Brian and the others who lived through it gives a fascinating account of life in a touring band during that era and a valuable insight into the early career of one of rock's greatest keyboard
players.

There are many rare pictures including one of the famous tearing (and burning) of the stars and stripes at the Royal Albert Hall.

The book is almost worth buying for the pics alone.

A great story and an absolute must for any ELP or Nice fan.

Really well written detailed read on this most underrated of bands.The author has unearthed loads of new stories and facts and presents them in an extremely readable way. Shame Mr Emerson declined to be involved but BD,LJ and the unsung star of the story Bazz all shine. Fantastic rare photos and layout only add to the books impact.
As a fan of music bios I'd recomend this to anyone who wants to know more about the 1960's and how the music of that era changed the world!

The first LP I bought, with my own money, was 'The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack' by The Nice. It was 1967 and I was 14.
This book is just wonderful and brings back all the memories I have of The Nice. My big regret was that I never saw them live, too young but, the first live band I saw, in 1971, was Emerson, Lake & Palmer who played a smattering of 'Nice' tunes.
If you want to know wht the fuss about The Nice is read this book and, listen to any/all of their albums.
