I saw this gem in my local library a few months ago and borrowed it. I found I wanted to make just about every recipe in it! I just had to have a copy of my own.

Although Indian cookery can be somewhat heavy on the oil, Mrs Baljekar has presented traditional recipes from her country's cuisine in very healthy versions. There is no lack of flavour and culinary excitement; she tantalises the tastebuds with combinations of spices/herbs that satisfy completely.

I highly recommend this book to those who love Indian food but are watching the waistline and maintaining a healthy heart!

I echo the above review, also got it out of the library, tried some recipes, meant to write them down, but then there were just too many to write down, so now want to buy it. The recipes are so easy, and TASTY - I often felt I could open my own Indian restaurant. If you stock up on spices that she uses, you're set = no fancy ingredients that are not available in local supermarkets. Definitely worth getting.
