3.0 out of 5 stars The ONLY Guide, 16 April 2005
By MR J ROBBINS (East Hendred, Oxfordshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This is a good book for birdwatching sites, checklists, what to see when etc. It is not an illustrated guide but at present it is the only bird guide specific to Bermuda. Not a great help in identifying birds, particularly hybrids and morphs, apart from the few (good) pictures contained.
I ended up using this, a European Field Guide (Collins) and the Sibley Guide to Birds (of North America and the Western Palearctic) which does extend to include Bermuda in its Geographic Range (but is a big heavy expensive book). Yes you do get both sides of the Atlantic represented in the bird population.
Worth having and useful but don't expect too much. Hopefully there will be a true field guide produced soon (promised for a long time - Bermuda time is different to the rest of the planet).
