Product Description
Synopsis
Liverpool Football Club began the 1960s as a mediocre Second Division outfit but finished it as one of the recognised giants of the game. Events at the club during the decade shaped not just their immediate future but the long term outlook of the club. Bill Shankly's quest to build a team worthy of it fans and one that could challenge for honours was the blueprint used by successive Liverpool managers as the team went on to dominate not just the domestic game but the European scene. Author and Kop season ticket holder of over 13 years Darren Phillips chronicles the origins of this dynasty drawing on the memories of the fans, players and officials and placing their recollections around the events both on and off the pitch.
